I am a paralegal in the Court of Protection team and assist Ruth Meyer with Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust issues. I deal with clients on a daily basis and assist them with any needs they may have, answer their queries and give reassurance where needed.
My job involves dealing with Court forms and related issues, administering all banking on behalf of clients including paying invoices, rent and care payments, compiling spreadsheets for Deputyship Accounts, completing benefit forms on behalf of clients, dealing with estate agents, case managers and therapists, liaising with family regarding various issues and helping to make their life more easier wherever I can. Little things can make a huge difference to the quality of life for our clients and their family and it is always good to know that one phone call of reassurance or answering a query can make a whole person's day brighter.
After finishing A Levels I worked at a large Reading based legal firm as a junior secretary and worked my way up to working for a partner in their busy commercial litigation team. When the Reading office closed in 2005 I joined Boyes Turner and worked in the wealth protection team. I am now in the medical negligence team and in the past year I have been involved in Court of Protection and Deputyship work more closely. My interest has grown and continues to grow every day- it is such an interesting area of work and you never know what is around the corner. I am now a paralegal to Ruth Meyer and enjoy being so closely involved in this area of work.
I have a son and daughter who take all my time but wouldn't have it any other way! When I do have a little spare time I enjoy socialising with friends and reading.
